Where to eat in Xcalak
For a rural area we are lucky to have the best shopping service ever. About every second day we have ‘veggie’ trucks come by the shop. These trucks drive into Xcalak loaded with fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, meat and bread. For basic supplies there are many ‘abarroterias’ (little shops) in town.
For those of you who like to taste the local flavours, there are a few options to eat out:
The Coral Bar and Grill is located within XTC Dive Center – all you need to do is let one of the friendly staff know you are ready for some tasty breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Toby’s is the main eat-out place for a lot of us. Open for lunch and dinner six days a week, you have to stop and have a lionfish ceviche at least once.
Gringo Dave’s is a little restaurant right at the entrance of Xcalak. They are famous for their tasty curries.
