Tec 45
Overview
PADI Tec 45 is part two of the full PADI Tec Deep Diver program and picks up where the Tec 40 course has left off. During this course you will extend your personal depth limit to 45m/145ft and learn to plan and execute repetitive decompression dives using a single stage/decompression cylinder. You will use a complete tec diving rig, which can be either backmount or sidemount (if qualified). You’ll also make accelerated decompression dives using EANx or pure oxygen. This is a course where you’ll rise to the challenge and make the commitment to become a technical diver.

Prerequisites
To enroll on a PADI Tec 45 course, you must:
Materials Required
You’ll need to have the Tec Deep Diver Crew-Pak. The pack includes a manual, dive planning checklist and dive planning slate. The optional Equipment Set-up and Key Skills video on DVD is a great tool to help you practice at home in between your tec diving adventures. You will have already used the Tec Deep Diver Crew-Pak for Tec 40 and you will also use it for Tec 50, should you wish to continue you your Tec adventure.

Equipment Required
You’ll need full tec gear, which will include wings and doubles plus an additional deco cylinder. You may also use a technical sidemount set-up if you are already qualified to use sidemount configuration. Your Instructor will explain the gear required for your tec diving adventures. All required equipment is available at a very reasonable price for you to rent for the duration of your course.
What's Involved in the Course?
Your Tec 45 training consists of three knowledge development sections, three practical application sessions and four open water dives. You’ll build on what you have already learned in the Tec 40 course, focusing on the maintenance and function of tec diving equipment and associated issues. You’ll continue fine-tuning gas planning and calculating accelerated decompression stops. Plus, you’ll learn to think like a technical diver.

How Long Does the Course Take?
Normal duration: 3 days
Why XTC?
Prices
At XTC we are committed to making safe and competent Tec divers that are able to meet the course performance requirements in a comfortable and repeatable manner. Tec diving has additional inherent risks (when compared to recreational diving) and we want to minimize these additional risks as much as possible. This means is that our training is performance-based, not time-based, so course prices are based on daily rates and your Instructor will discuss with you if additional training days are required.
