TEC SIDEMOUNT DIVER COURSE
Sidemount is an increasingly popular way for recreational as well as technical divers to configure their cylinders due to its comfort and versatility. This course covers all aspects of Sidemount diving from basic equipment set-up and a two-cylinder configuration up to the use of multiple stage/decompression cylinders. Course contents include emergency procedures, advanced trim and propulsion techniques and buoyancy control, simulated gas switches, staging and recovery of decompression cylinders and executing simulated decompression schedules.
The course can be customized to suit already qualified technical divers that wish to convert from back-mounted doubles to a Sidemount configuration. Certified recreational Sidemount divers who wish to progress onto formal technical training using this configuration can take this course instead of the Tec Basics Course as preparation for completing tec courses in Sidemount instead of back-mounted doubles.
This course qualifies you to dive in a Sidemount configuration using up to four cylinders to extend bottom times within standard recreational diving limits. This course introduces the use of a different equipment configuration; it does not qualify the diver to engage in technical diving but rather prepares them for the Tec 40 Diver Course, which can then be taken in Sidemount.
To enroll in the Tec Sidemount Diver course you need to meet the following requirements:
